King when the famous "I Have a Dream " speech was given. John Lewis was with Dr. King on Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama when the state police beat marchers as they tried to cross the bridge. Mr. Lewis was beaten so badly he had to have a metal plate in his scalp. He is now a member of the US Congress.
